The old man and the sea 01

Doing studies to get a painterly style with my brushstrokes so I am doing quick paintings and stumbled across this idea of "the old man and the sea". Hoping to do a series of different motifs all using inspiration from that context.

Agent Emma

I wanted to wait until it is finished but I guess it could be cool to have a preview before it is done. Agent Emma, is sort of a mercenary. As much an agent as she steal valuable goods as a thief, agent Emma do not hesitate to franchise in any business as long as the price is right.

New game ideas!

I been working secretly with this one for a short time now. No game design will be adressed just yet since I need to put it down on paper. But trust me, got a lot of ideas on this one.
So this should be a mock up for the stage or level, if you wish. Here you see what could be one faction's units. To the right side you see the players castle, which the player defend fiercely. These are just sketches just yet so animations and clean ups will be posted due time. You also see two possible traps in the lovely summer green grass. The spike trap, which should hurt even the plate footed character. The log wall which stop any advancing enemy, that will have to destroy it before he/she/they can get by. Perfect way to throw down some arrows don't you think?

My goal is to create a small sized game to the looks but lots of fun gaming hours. Much like "Plants vs Zombies" or perhaps "Might and magic: Clash of heroes". The content should be intriguing, fun, simple and clear. The game design should be strategic, puzzle and tempo.

More to come....
so stay tuned

Adam will be missed!

I am not much for blogging really and the purpose of this blog is to showcase and measure my performance in the art. But there comes a few times when I will put my thoughts out there.

Adam Adamowicz, former concept artist at bethesda died recently from a struggle with cancer. Adam was one of the really few people I know that consistently work with 2D and not 3D in a bigger game company. Also, he most often used non digital tools to create his incredible concepts and art, which is even more uncommon.
Adam, you will be missed!

For those that want to read a little bit about Adam or see his art, just click on the below link;

Cardboard art

Of course these are only digital but I would love to hang stuff like this on the wall! The idea is truly someone else's though. So he should have all the credit for such awesome ideas. Will post his name when I remember it.
Edit: The artist's name is Bernie Valenta

Trying to learn after effects better

Yeeaah...I want to excel in after effects too. I want to have any possible client/employer to feel perfectly safe to ask me to do some short animations or a cool designed commercial banner.....or something.
These frames are among a few others that I painted very quickly just to get exactly what I wanted for a short animation in after effects. The story will have to wait since my hope is that it will be straight to the point when you finally see it.

Dear Jessica....

Let me start by saying I thought I'd never dare paint this fox. I won't say I did her justice but it went alright. Quite the quick painting also. Last but not least it feels so Grrreeaaaat! to finally get som up to date art on here. Won't be too long I reckon' until many more "up  to date" will be posted.

Since the picture is quite small I went ahead and posted a close up as well.
